Background
Travelers joined in our program to visit a studio of sword smith in Osaka. He is the 5th generation of the family business. His main job is making knives by forging. But Shinto temples ask him to make real Katana(Japanese sword) for their important ceremony, so that he makes Katana 2 or 3 times annually.
The travelers enjoyed not only the studio visit, but also learning his history, process to make Katana and knives. At last, they bought knives made by him.

miit's Role
We connected the travelers from the US with a traditional sword smith in Osaka. Bofore their arrival at Osaka, we communicated with the craftsman about their request, then we customized the local tour including studio visit and old gun smith museum, too.
Results
They enjoyed talking to the craftsman about how to make Katana from scratch, the process to make knives and shopping. Additionally, he showed his Katana to us and could hold it in our hands. It was unbelievable moment for them.
